iPhone 12 pro max poor quality photos and videos

It's in your settings under "facebook" and not "photos". You will see that your settings to upload video and photo's in HD is disabled and you need to turn it on. Mostly likely setup that way so people don't bust on data. My 12 Pro did the same thing.

How did you contact them? I’m super disappointed as well........ the color of the pictures is so off from the actual color. For example, when colors are link in nature, the picture comes out yellow!!! So very sad

So, facebook, & likely instagram, compress photos and videos uploaded to their sites to preserve data space on their servers. Your images never will look as good there as they do on your phone.

To verify, try looking at the original images on your computer, or mirror them onto your TV

Hi, so I upgraded my iPhone XR because u wanted the ultra wide and telephoto lens. I was initially very disappointed with the quality of the photos and contemplated returning the phone because I thought the camera was better on the Xr. Then I noticed the same photos looked better on my iPad. I discovered this setting under photos called “view in full hdr” that is on by default. That fixed the issue. Hope that helps! 😄

the iPhone 12 Pro/ 12 pro max have amazing cameras!

I feel this is an issue with FB and Instagram, not your iPhone 12. The app automatically reduces quality when uploading. There’s sadly nothing Apple can do to help with that.

My iPhone 12 Pro takes absolutely terrible photos. I’m extremely disappointed. Every photo, no matter the lighting, comes out blurry. Portrait mode is completely unusable. I only used the portrait mode on my iPhone X. Now it’s not even an option for me. Absolutely terrible.

I have the same exact problem. When I send pictures and videos through text or upload via Instagram or Facebook there is a HUGE loss in quality. This needs to be fixed because on my phone the pictures look absolutely stunning, but when I want to share with other’s the quality diminishes... what can we do?

Its called compression most social media sites use it, there is a certain length you need to upload photos and videos in for it to stay sharp i suggest you google and have alook cause i give the worst advice

I just upgraded to 12 pro max specifically because of the upgrade in camera and pics seem complete rubbish. I think my 8 plus had better quality! Super disappointed.

Did you turn “View Full HDR” on or off on your iPhone 12? Which looks better?

I got mine in December and have had the worst quality pictures and then nothing but floating lights reflecting back into my videos if I try to record Christmas lights, birthday candles or in low lighting with a t.v. Or something with a bright screen on. It’s so stupid. I think I’m gonna switch to Samsung. I’ve never been a droid fan because it seems more confusing to use, but their photos & videos are always AMAZING, plus they have way cooler general features, like fonts, more widgets etc.
