Btw. there is another big threat about that issue in the Apple Support Community here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252151864

I had a long chat with the Apple support and he tested my phone with the Apple inspector and a battery check but he can't find something wrong. Then I had a chat with his boss and after that I got a call from Apple from a guy from the Apple care team (I don't have Apple care). We are talking long about that issue and in the end he gave me to tips:

  1. Create an Apple bug request
  2. Write an feedback <- very important

https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

He told me that Apple takes care about the feedback issues and when a lot of people writing a feedback for the same issue, the developers taking care to have a look and try to fix it. But it's only necessary over this ways (Bug request, feedback formular, get in contact with the support). He told me that they ignore the Apple Support Communities for that. a

I charge my phone at night. I have disabled notifications and any background activity for every single app. I have "optimized charging" option on. Every app that shows the biggest percentage of battery drain is used only when phone is being charged. Brightness is on a low level. My battery storage was the same before the iOs update, yet now it takes less hours until I have to recharge the phone, even with me not using the phone at all for most of the day. If this is "normal" for 87% of battery capacity, I dread what happens at 70%.

For a downgrade you have to change the version number in the backup:

https://www.techacrobat.com/how-to-downgrade-ios/

I tried yesterday and the pictures are still uploading. I figured out that after the backup I lost some contacts for no reason (in the cloud as well). Over the night I lost only 1% of battery but when I use the phone the battery drains fast as well. But I wait until alls tasks are finished and I use the phone as normal.

I keep my SE plugged in most of the day while I’m using it and I charge it at night. The way this battery drain happens to me makes no sense. It will be at 100% (or at least the eightieth percentile or higher), Plugged In, and suddenly power down and drain to TEN percent. This makes me think that it doesn’t have much to do with charging habits or settings, if at all.

This response is so much baloney. I charge my 11Pro every night. Have had zero issues with battery performance. Since the morning after the update, it inexplicably plunges below 20% throughout the day. Then within 5 minutes dips below 10%. The last phone I had with battery performance this poor was a 5S on its last legs in the final weeks before I upgraded.

I have a 6S with 86% capacity. Before upgrade to 14.3 mostly normal charge life. After upgrade does not appear to charge overnight. States 100% and unplug it and do something like look at Twitter and my iPhone shuts down. I plug it in and power on and now it display10%. It does seem to charge at this point while I continue to use it. If I unplug at 100% with normal browsing and other usage it hits low power at about 2 hours. I’m a Software Engineer so I can say that the issue is not the battery, is iOS 14.3! Either a bug or intentionally coded that way by design. At this point I think it’s a bug since 12 users are encountering battery issue. Very frustrating!

Apple you have a problem with 14.3 that I suspect you know about by now.

Please acknowledge it.

I have an Xs and a Mini4 that I am abled to visually watch the battery indictor fall from 100% to 5% in less than 90min.

I have erased and reset all settings and started without restoring from backup as well as a DFU recovery on both devices.

The problem persists on both devices despite this troubleshooting.

Both the iPhone and the iPad get smoking hot.

This is my ticket for the iPhone Xs 101295232794 from 1/12

This is my ticket for the iPad Mini4 101297258716 from 1/14

Spending hours on a call with your support teams it not fair to them or us when you know there is a problem.

Also how hard would it be to provide the users with an ability to choose an operating system version when you do a DFU recovery?

same, iphone 11, losing on average 30% battery overnight, despite disabling bluetooth & no discernible apps open . not an issue prior to ios 14.3 installed within the last 7 days.

Battery health of 100%

showed battery usage largely by chrome , so as suggested by others, deleted the app & swapped browsers, to no avail

This is truly ridiculous.

My phone battery is abysmal now and doesn't last 24hrs after the auto update to 14.3. I used to have over 3 days battery time and this is horendous. If I use Waze it doesn't even hold 1hr roadtrip, this is dangerous.

I wish there was a rollback option.

APPLE: You need to fix this asap, I cannot believe a company like Apple takes the head in the sand approach and not even acknowledge this major problem.

I have an update here. Last night I changed my Mobile Data Option from 4G to 3G, turned on Low Data Mode, deleted the default Mail App of iOS and restarted my phone. These 3 changes were done after all the Battery Saving Tips on YouTube failed for me. To my surprise, I did not see even 1% battery drain overnight (7 hours of standby time) when the battery was charged >= 90% but lost only 4% overnight battery drain when the battery was charged somewhere around 75%.
