Monitor Brightness on Mac Mini M1 with Spanish ISO keyboard not working

The brightness keys on the keyboard (Apple Spanish ISO Keyboard) on my new Mac Mini M1 are not working and the brightness slides are not showing up anywhere either in system preferences. Any idea how to fix?

Both the keyboard special keys and the "display" slider in the macOS menu bar are disabled. All other features of the Cinema Display, the sound control keys and all other special keys still work as they used to under Big Sur. This is a very serious problem, as health & safety regulations mandate that any computer display must be equipped with brightness controls, that mac mini is now not suitable for any production environment. Brightness issue with LG4K monitor and M1 MacMini Essentially it's like my display isn't actually reflecting the maximum brightness possible even when adjusting brightness via the keyboard and the on-screen brightness indicator shows it at the max. I'm able to fix this by going into System Prefs -> Displays and tweaking the brightness. Even though it shows brightness max there as well, just moving the slider allows the monitor to actually get as bright as possible. It does this every time the Mac goes to sleep. Connecting to the display using the Thunderbolt out from the MacMini.

grayed out brightness option on MacBook Pro M1 Max We have a MacBook Pro 16 inch with M1 Max chip and we can not adjust the brightness on the screen. When going into display settings all the options are grayed out. The Keyboard icons for the display brightness show a lock on the screen when we press them. In control panel the display option is grayed out. is there a hidden setting which was accidentally turned on to turn the display options off? The computer is connected to an external display but even when taking that off we can not change anything. we restarted the computer with a complete shut down , that did not work either. anybody having the same issue and or a solution thanks

The brightness keys only work with Apple displays. Adjust manually on monitor.

What display do you have, and how is it connected? If the display has USB, is that connected to the computer?
