AppleTV+ on LG smart TV

I have an LG TV with the Apple TV app. There are many movies; when I click on one I am presented with the option to pay to view the movie.

I have a relatively new iphone and, supposedly, 11 more months of free Apple TV + (that's Apple TV PLUS).

I understand that Apple TV PLUS includes some free movies.

How do I get access to the free movies through the Apple TV app on my LG TV?

I found one "Apple supported" answer to this question, which said that Apple TV is not supported on LG TV! That answer is incorrect as of the time of this post.
