iPhone 12 Max Pro Microphone not working

my iphone worked completely fine out of the box but after some days when siri stopped responding me and no one could listen anything when i send them a voice note on whatsapp then i checked voice memo same issue as well but works well when i take videos....i hve reset my phone couple of times and did a force restart too but the problem continues...

I have a 4 day old iPhone 12 max pro, when using face time or messenger video call the microphone will not work, as in the person your calling has no sound . If I plug in my headphones then they can here me . Also when I record a video the microphone works fine . Just not on any video chats . I’ve updated the phone to 14.3 . Also reset the phone and removed the messenger app and re installed it . Still no joy .. is it an app issues or a phone issue ? Please help

I have lost the icon for voice-to-text for my messages. This was preceded with garbled translation of speech to a mixture of Spanish and non-sensical English.

I have a 2 month old iPhone 12 Max fir which I payed a huge amount!

Do I switch to Android after trashing Apple products?

I have had my 12 pro max since January and nothing works, I can’t get my screen to shut of while I not on it. It keeps locking up, I could go on and on with problems at this point

I have the same issue. Microphone stops working intermittently (person on the other side can't hear me for a fraction of a second) for all calls: whatsapp, facetime, or normal calls. Went to the nearby Apple store (I'm in Sydney, Australia) and they said they can't replace the phone, but can replace the phone components except the screen/body (found that weird). Apple web support has agreed for a replacement but not sure if I should go for it as I would end up getting a refurbished phone.

Yes mine had the issue after the 14.3 upgrade. Given it works fine in video mode I think they have stuffed something up in that version

Same thing. Brand new iPhone 12 Pro and after updating to 14.3 I had the same issues.

14.4 didn’t fix it. Still broken microphone on a telephone which make it kind of useless :(

I have the exact same problem and an appointment with apple service on Monday. Did you get the replacement and is it working? Did they argue they wanted to repair the phone instead of replace?

I did a total wipe and reinstall and that didn't work. Off to the "genius" bar to get it fixed

Hi Steve I used the diagnostic and two of the microphones dont function. I agree it looks very much like a manufacturing problem to me. Off to the store for a replacement

Can I ask which Microphones they were and was it on all frequencies. It may very well be the same as mine. This would certainly give evidence to Apple if others with the problem tested their phone.
