Opening ProRAW images in 'Photos' under Catalina

Photos on Catalina can't yet open ProRAW images properly. The current support documents talk about Big Sur, but my iMac just misses Big Sur compatibility. 8-(

Is there an update coming for the Photos app under Catalina? thanks.

Photos cannot find System Photo Library I've just switched to a new iMac (Catalina). Now Photos says "cannot find System Photo Library". My system photo library is displayed in the "Choose Library" window when I start with the option key. I've even created a new system library and Photos can't find that one either.

Big Sur 11.3.1 - Screen Saver will not select Mac Photos Both 11.3.1 and previous OS will not display Mac "Photos" even though listed as a "Source" for Screen Saver. Just spend many hours scanning / sorting / dating photos into Photos for the sole purpose of sharing them to our TV for background. Catalina & Big Sur photos do display normally as alternate "Sources." Frustrating.

Photos not showing up in imovie I have tried the fix of creating a new photos library and then re checking my original library to 'use as system photo library' but it is still not working. I am using an imac Catalina 10.15.5 (update installed yesterday) Normally 'photos' shows up in the 'libraries' list under project media side bar in imovie. It has disappeared. Thanks in advance.

Hi - no one here will know. We are not apple, just users like you.

I think you can still use the raw files, and get a benefit from the DNG raw format. But the added benefit of the apple deep fusion technology will not be available in post processing.
