extracting old video on CD onto/into mac OS?

hi guys. i have a very old video on a CD (like about ten or more years old) that must have burned on a PC. i put it into MAC OS and i don't get any prompts when it is inserted it seems to open in "DVD Media" app? but if i right click on the DVD there do not appear to be any contents.

i would like to get it into quicktime or take some images from it or edit a shorter version to show people. but screengrabs come up with an empty gray space and i can't seem to find a way to get at the contents.

any ideas?

Can you tell us a bit about the format of the video file?

This tool would get the useful information from it, for optimal advise: Invisor Lite. Its primary use is inspecting media files for such details.

If you just want playback of the file, then consider VLC media player, which will play almost anything.

If you want to convert (e.g. for use with QuickTime Player, or editing in iMovie), then consider HandBrake, which features nice presets to make conversions easier.
