Apple TV won’t connect to Yamaha htr3069

I just bought a new Apple TV 4K , this works fine when plugged directly into my tv( with hdr enabled )


But when connected to my av receiver it doesn’t acknowledge that anything is plugged in.


ive tried multiple hdmi cables including the one that works when plugged directly into my tv ( high speed cable )


iver tried 2 different hdmi ports including the one that works with my PS4 in hdr


Is there anything I can do to fix this?

is the Apple TV 4K not compatible with all receivers?

Hey Adam,


We understand that you're having some issues connecting your Apple TV 4K when connected to your AV Receiver.


You've tried some great troubleshooting steps already and it sounds like the issue may be isolated to the AV Receiver. Make sure that your AV Receiver is Dolby Armos enabled. For some AV Receivers this may mean installing a firmware update. Play audio in Dolby Atmos or surround sound on your Apple TV can help further with this setup.
