iPhone backup fails

Hello my iPhone says 18 gb and I have 24.5 gb spare space in my icloud storage but when I start a back it fails as it says not enough iCloud storage ios 12.4 .9- any ideas what to do please ?

backup not working Hopefully someone has seen this - I'm getting a message that says my iPhone Xs cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud storage, however when I go to iCloud, I have tons of storage available. Do I need to go to an Apple store to get help?
