Apple Watch and Treadmill distance

Hi,

I just got an Apple Watch 6. I’ve done runs outside to “calibrate” it, but the distance it records for my treadmill are as much as 25% off. It is unusable for this.

I have an NPE Runn Smart Sensor on my treadmill that can broadcast the speed (and incline and cadence) in Bluetooth.

is there anyway to integrate this sensor into the Apple Health data or workouts?

Treadmills are part of Fitness+ so it strikes me that Apple would want to have a system that worked.

Solved!

The key is downloading an app called “heartbeatz” to the Apple Watch.

It can pick up the Bluetooth information of the Runn treadmill sensor and then integrate it into the Apple Fitness app data.

I wish Apple would promote this - it makes the Apple Watch useful for accurate tracking of treadmill workouts.

Hello Steve56303,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're seeing a discrepancy in the distance reported on your Apple Watch vs a third-party sensor when working out on a treadmill.

In addition to calibrating the Apple Watch as you've done, here are some tips to help improve the accuracy of your workout:

You may also be able to pair the Apple Watch to your NPE Runn Smart Sensor following the steps here:
