Old Mini Display Port to VGA adapter on 2019 iMac

I have a 2019 27-inch iMac. I also have an old LCD VGA monitor that I wanted to use as a second display. I do have the old official Apple VGA to mini display port adapter (I do not think they even make these anymore). I also have the official apple thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter.

Now for my question can I combine these two dongles, or would I be better off buying the official Apple USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter?
