I am trying to bring one song on my iTunes (pc) onto my iPhone SE. I've dragged the song from the iTunes to the iPhone and even tried to sync the song from the sync screen. While the song is in both locations, nothing happens.
I've synced hundreds of songs onto my old iPhone 6s as well as the new SE with no difficulty.
I'm at a loss. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for posting to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, it appears there's an issue with syncing over a specific song from iTunes to your iPhone. We'll do what we can to help.
Depending on the type of song, try removing it from iTunes (or deleting from your library if using iTunes Match/Apple Music) then adding it back again before syncing.

If you haven't already, be sure iTunes on your PC is completely updated: Update to the latest version of iTunes
If you're still having issues with syncing, try removing iTunes and installing it again: Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

Now it's even worse! I followed your suggestion. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes on my PC (windows 10), iTunes shows 21 items in the genre on my iPhone not including the one I was trying to add; however, my iPhone shows only 2 items in that genre, also without the item I was trying to add. But the song I was trying to add is playing on my iPhone although I can't find it listed anywhere either on iTunes or my iPhone.
