Prior to iOS 14 my hotspot would automatically connect to and device that had it stored. Now I have to open my phone every time I want the hotspot to connect, click on personal hotspot then it connects.
This is rediculous since I am paying my provider to have a hotspot. I don’t want to take my phone out of my pocket and do this so it can connect to my car or my kids iPads. What happened!!!!

To start off, please connect to Wi-Fi, and update the carrier settings. Often when there is an iOS update, the carrier will release an update as well. This can help fix issues with connecting. Please follow this: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad

I am still trying to resolve this. After the iOS 14 update my phone and my wife’s no longer automatically connects hotspots to any device, android or iPhone! We have to unlock our phone then click hotspot to open it and then the device will connect. The hotspot is NOT discoverable even tho we leave them on for our kids devices to connect to while we travel. Very annoying!!
is there a resolution? I would like my hotspot to be always discoverable if I choose to leave it on!! Spent $3000 on these phones and $200 a month on a hotspot with my data plan. Useless if I have to keep unlocking my phone to connect a device
Thanks for the response but no updates available for carrier settings. iOS is also 14.3. The hotspot works only when I open hotspot and then it shows up and works fine
