TurboTax requires Big Sur, but my iMac is from late-2012

Intuit TurboTax is refusing to install on MacOS 10.13 and says it requires Big Sur, but my iMac is from late-2012 and isn't on the compatibility list for Big Sur. Is this serious or is there an easy work-around?

Turbotax Mac version (that installs and runs on your Mac) requires Mojave (10.14) or later. If you can install 10.14 on your Mac, you can use Turbotax on it. I think your iMac can handle up to 10.15.7.

The online version simply uses a browser and that can run with much older OS. But the online version can not handle some of the more complicated tax situations.

On the Intuit web site I see a list of requirements for multiple versions of macOS. There are different requirements for the online version and the downloadable version of TurboTax.
