imovie won't upload to my mac now that i have upgraded to Big Sur

I removed the imovie app and tried to download the new version. But in the app store after I click install and the icon spins with no results.

IMovie not installed as part of MacOS upgrade Hi, I have just upgraded my wife's veteran MBA which was running under 10.13 (High Sierra) to 10.15 (Catalina). All seemed to perform OK but then I noticed the total absence of iMovie. The original iMovie app will not work under Catalina as it was not 64bit. I downloaded a fresh Catalina and installed it to no avail... still no iMovie. There may well be other "bits" missing but I've not checked as yet. Can anyone please shed some light on this oddity and maybe advise how I can iMovie in there again? Very many thanks TT

iMovie not downloading I'm trying to download the iMovie app on my Macbook Air and it will not download. I've had it before so when I try to download it, it has the little cloud with the arrow picture but when I click on it nothing happens and it won't show up in my applications. I have everything updated to the macOS Catalina and plenty of room on my mac but the app still won't download. All I get is a second of the waiting wheel and then back to the cloud with the arrow. Help.

The procedure is to place your iMovie app in the trash, but do not empty the trash. Then sign in to the app store and click on your name at the bottom of the app store sidebar. You will see your purchases, including iMovie. Update it from there.
