Last Pass on iPhone

I just made the giant leap from Android to Apple, mostly due to privacy concerns and getting sick of all the Google apps spying on me. I decided to stick to LastPass instead of using Keychain because I have a Windows 10 computer. But dang it if I can't get LastPass to work on my iPhone (12 Pro)! It comes up as an option but will not autofill or create a new password. I select "fill" and nothing happens. Does anyone have any tips?

I use Last Pass on my iPhone 12 Pro. If you see the word Passwords just above the keypad, if you have selected LastPass to handle your passwords, that should open LastPass. You can also set the LastPass app to open with Face ID. Go to Settings>Passwords>Auto Fill Passwords turn that on, and also under Allow Filling From: check Last Pass. And, if you go to Settings>LastPass, that will let you setup Face ID and also to select Cellular Data to be used for LastPass if you wish.

Thanks! It's helpful to know that it is working for someone else. I logged into LastPass on my PC and reset the password for the account that was giving me trouble and then went back to my iPhone and was able complete the process with success!


I think this has helped me narrow my problem. Is it possible to set up a new password from my iPhone using LastPass? I am trying it right now for Zoom and I am failing. Do I have to set the password on my PC first?


Edit: So I selected I "forgot my password" then from my email on my iPhone I tried to set a new password. LastPass opened and I entered my username and selected "generate" which it did. Then I returned to the Zoom password reset page, selected LastPass, and I can see that it completes the face scan ID but it just does not fill the password. I tried a few times and still it doesn't fill. And I can't copy the password from LastPass in order to enter it manually.

So let me see if I understand you correctly. You are having difficulty getting a password to fill in an app, or a website? But when you change the password it is not automatically filling? Getting the Face ID for LastPass should get you to your vault, and if there is a username and password for the app, it should allow you to select it from there, or like I said, it should ask you if you wish to use LastPass to fill the username and password for the app when you have the keyboard appearing to enter the username and password. Also, many of the apps will allow you to configure Face ID on their own, and you don't have to use LastPass to fill once you have filled it once and selected the settings in the app to use Face ID.


Is the problem you are having just with Zoom, or is there something else? If you change the password in the Vault on your PC, you have to make sure that the vault updates in the LastPass app before you try to use it. Are you able to view your vault on the app on your phone? It should work either way.

Thanks for seeking clarification and trying to help! I am just having trouble getting it to fill when setting a new password on my phone in an app. I can open the vault and instruct LastPass to generate a new password, but I can't get it to fill. Maybe something having to do with the "set new password" fields not being recognized by LastPass?


This is happening on Zoom right now, but this is the same thing that happened with my bank's app and with the LHI covid-19 testing provider website navigated via Safari from my phone. I was able to solve the bank app issue by setting the new password with LastPass on my computer. I'm sure I could do the same with Zoom but I would like it function correctly on my phone too.
