Apple TV+ 1 year subscription.

I just talked my mother into buying an apple tv 4k 32 gig device. The selling point was that it comes with a 1 year subscription to Apple TV+. Come to find out, she is not eligible due to the fact that she has already had an Apple TV promotion that expired a couple of weeks ago. I may have not done enough research but the main page at apple says, After doing my research, well after contacting apple support come to find out its only one promotion per user ID. This device was $200+ with apple care and you mean to tell me that apple can't offer a 1 year @ $60 value per device purchased? Is there anyway around this? can I or someone else that has not used a "promotion" sign in as another user to take advantage of this offer?, or is the device tied to her user ID since she purchased it thru her iPhone?

Some Thoughts:

I. One Promo Per Account:

If I understand you correctly, this was purchased under her own Apple Account. The only way around this is to use your own Apple Account to purchase it, rather than you mother's - once the promo's used, it's used. Having this message shows it is mother's device.


II. Returning it:

If it was already purchased, then return it. Elsewise, you'll have to wait 90 days to associate it to a different Apple Account: Your Apple Account.


III. Apple Support Info:

Ask to speak with the Apple Store staff. They'll see what is going on, and will run you through the fix.

Contact Apple:

Why the Wait:

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, calls and chats are taking a bit linger to get through. And, that makes sense, because many are at home working out-of-the-house or are taking classes over-the-web, this they have more time on their hands to contact Apple Support. So, it might take a bit to get through to Apple Support. But, just stay on the line, and someone will be with you. :)
