not being able to create new folder in macintosh hd

Hi, can anybody pls let me know why i'm not being able to create new folder in macintosh hd & how to fix the issue? i can create folders in desktop and other location.

First and foremost, are you an admin to this computer? Desktop files, and some other locations are part of your user profile, so you would not have a problem there. However, if you are not a Admin, you will not be able to create folders directly on the hard drive.
