I am trying to add a bass track to an existing track of vocals, click and guitar. The existing track is bleeding into the bass track. It is NOT a mic issue. It bleeds even if I just hit the record button and DON'T play bass, there is still the bleed into the track.

Are you using headphones? could the Mic on the Mac be on?
Have you tried clapping or yelling when the mic is off to see if there is response on the VU meter?

This is a GB flaw. Even if no instrument is plugged in, when I hit record the main track will bleed into the empty track. If I play the main track on iTunes and try to record on a new GB track the music from Itunes will bleed into the GB track.
No, that's not it. Even if I don't have the Alessis attached, and just go to Garageband, open the song, add an additional track to the main track and hit record, the main track will bleed into the new track.
The internal mic is muted. Headphones or not, I do not even need to plug in an instrument. If I create a new track and hit record the main track bleeds into the new track, even if nothing is plugged into the new track.
