Not able to remove Encrypted DNS Setting on macOS Big Sur

I installed a .mobileconfig profile having Encrypted DNS configuration. After installation the DNS Setting showed up in System Preferences->Network. I clicked Duplicate Service of the DNS Setting and so the DNS Setting duplicated. But the problem is after i removed the profile from System Preferences -> Profiles, the duplicated DNS Setting still remains with the remove button ( - ) greyed out. How can I remove this DNS Setting?

Hello harshanand120,

It sounds like you may have a profile installed that created another network that you're unable to remove.

We'd recommend removing the profile to see if that helps to remove the network. Here's an article to help: Remove a device from Profile Manager

As I said, I already removed the profile. But the network setting wont go, as its a duplicate of the dns setting that the profile created.

so the current situation is - i have 0 profiles installed. And this “duplicated” dns setting cant be removed by the - (minus) button.

If you've removed the profile already, we'd recommend restarting your Mac to see if this persists. This will guide you: Log out, sleep, restart, and shut down Mac
