Garage Band Not allowing input from Airpods

Hello,

Quick question: I connected my airpods to my Mac and tried to record a track on garageband using my airpod mic as the input. Usually I do not have any problems with this, however, today when I tried to record, it kept saying "no input selected". I adjusted the preferences to allow the airpods to be the output and input and even though it was selected when I tried to select the airpods in the input of the track, both airpod 1 and 2 were grayed out and the same issue keeps happening. I gave permissions to garageband under security and privacy settings to my microphone and my bluetooth however this did not fix the problem. And I have tried to quit the program and start over but that did not help either. Nothing seems to be helping this work. The only change I have had since last time was that I upgraded to Big Sur 11.1 recently. Not sure if that is the issue.

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would love to know. Thank you! And Merry Christmas!
