How do I fix the problem with my pages app not letting me open any files. I can only create a new document but I can never reopen that document.

If we understand your post correctly, you are unable to open save Pages documents on your Mac. We’d like to help.
Try opening a saved document in safe mode. Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item or plugins, and sometimes corrects the issue.
