Apple’s Pages App on iPad Pro versus Pages 10.3.5 on Mac

Apple’s Pages App on iPad Pro provides different formatting options than Pages 10.3.5 on Mac. It is more difficult to correctly format a book I want to publish with Amazon KDP, especially the book size (6x9 inch). While this is a charm on Pages for Mac.

Using Pages to Publish to KDP/Amazon I publish both fiction and non-fiction books. Most of my books include graphics of various types. I love using Pages for writing, but for some reason Pages does not seem to be very compatible with KDP/Kindle. I have found numerous explanations for making conversions, but they are fairly complicated and often fall short of what I need. (ie. the conversions usually don't work and require tons of tweaking to make them look okay) So I'm wondering: Why does Amazon/KDP utilize so many formats for publishing, but not Pages? Is there ever going to be a version of Pages that will work seamlessly to publish books (both eBooks and paperbacks) on Amazon? (without making conversions to other formats)

Apple Pages Book Landscape Format - Why So Large? While creating a class handout book in Pages, I discovered the standard format is 14.28 inches wide by 10.67 inches high. Why so large? It doesn't appear to be any standard publishing format! And when I resize the template to 11 inches by 8.5 inches, all of the paragraph and image styles no longer fit! Are there standard US or ISO Page templates or do I have to create my own publishing/printing template with all the different page, image, and paragraph format styles? IMVHO, it would seem that Apple would have provided standard US or ISO template sizes. Any suggestions or links to solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. John

Amazon's KDP consistently rejects my PDF generated from Apple Pages I have spent 2 years writing and many weeks formatting and proofing my memoir in Pages, with photos and a great layout. It looks wonderful and should be all ready to go. I've exported the file to PDF to upload to Amazon's KDP for a **paperback book** (not a Kindle). But KDP/Amazon consistently rejects my Pages-generated PDF. After banging my head against the wall for several days, I still have no idea how to get around this. KDP/Amazon support says it requires embedded fonts and images, but Pages doesn't seem to embed them. Could this be my problem? If so, how do I solve it? Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone help me get this done? Please! Thanks in advance! MacBook Pro. 14” 2021 - OS Monterey 12.6.7

That is the design trade-off of the different implementations of Pages on these platforms. Use the one that causes you the least amount of productivity loss in producing a Kindle compatible book.
