Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that your daughter's iPhone is not showing up on your iMac to back up. We're happy to help. If you have macOS Catalina installed you will need to use Finder to back up your daughter's iPhone. "Finder is the new place to back up, update, or restore your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Just connect your device to your Mac and it appears in the Finder sidebar."
