HDCP error with Apple HDMI adapter

I have an IPhone 12 and am trying to use the Apple brand HDMI adapter I have and use all my streaming services on my television. I get the HDCP error on every App i use (Disney, Netflix, etc...)

I bought an HDMI splitter which I was told would resolve the issue and it hasn’t solved it after attempting yesterday. I get the same error. I am running iOS 14.1.

Without being able to use the adapter with Netflix, Hulu, Disney, etc... this adapter is worthless unless you enjoy watching your phone up on your TV for some reason... Is there a workaround for this or why does Apple sell a product that does not do what it says it can do? Please help?

Hello Bubbaheesh,

It sounds like you are seeing the HDCP alert when trying to stream content from your phone to your TV. The HDCP alert is related to the content you're streaming requiring High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). That means the content that you're watching/streaming requires content protection and while the adapter itself is compliant to offer that protection, your TV or HDMI cable may not.

You can try this by using another HDMI cable and see if that works. But HDCP is set by the content provider. You can find more information here:
