connecting Macbook Air 2020 to a Cinema Display model A1316

How can I connect a Cinema Display model A1316 to a Macbook Air 2020 with 2 thunderbolt 3/usb-c port

I already bought a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3/usb-c adapter but still I can't get a connection.

Do I need to download specific software?

Hi Joostleseman,

Thanks for reaching out for help with your MacBook Air and Apple LED Cinema Display. We're glad to share some great information to get this external display working with your MacBook.

As the Apple LED Cinema Display you mentioned has a Mini DisplayPort connection, you'll want to use a third-party USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter. The following guide has more information:

Adapters for the Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port on your Mac or iPad Pro

We're here for you if you've got any questions.

Have a great day!
