Why does my 2010 MacBook Pro randomly restart?

My 2010 MacBook Pro has been working just fine with RAM and SSD upgrades for about 10 months now, and in the past week, it has started crashing and restarting unexpectedly. The problem doesn't seem to be tied to any one particular process or activity while I'm using the computer, so I'm confused. I had this issue when I first updated to High Sierra with my new hardware, but then went for months having solved it. Happy to share crash reports if that's helpful.

Thank you for your time.

If you have Kernel Panic logs, then definitely post several of them so we can see if there is a pattern.

Run the Apple Diagnostics (may report a false failure with a third party SSD).

To look for software issues run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

Run Disk Utility First Aid on the SSD (or even better yet on the hidden Container). Even if First Aid reports everything is "Ok" click on "Show Details" to see if there are any unfixed errors listed. To see the hidden Container you need to click on "View" within Disk Utilities and select "Show All Devices" so that the physical drive and Container appear on the left pane of Disk Utility.
