Running Final Cut Pro X 10.5
Black blank frames between clips lasting about 1-2 seconds. Cannot seem to highlight them to delete frame although you can put the play head on the exact frame. If you leave them in and playback the video you just end up with a flicker effect in playback.

Screen shot below, Using Final Cut Pro 10.5. i wish to remove the frame the playhead is located on which falls between the clips. if I try to delete the frame it deletes the clip either side or both. If I drop a new clip in the timeline I end up with a new blank frame between those clips too. In the older version I use to be able to highlight the blank frame as showed on the screen shot and remove it. I don't copy paste from other projects these are new video clips. Same issue across projects.

zoomed in section below, it's just black then the clip starts if I trim the clip the black part remains. What media specs and the project properties do you need? Where can I find the details to send.

I maybe able to cut the black frame out if zoomed in, but when cutting to music zooming in this far makes editing difficult. Not sure what changes have caused the issue to make it hard to remove black frames that appear. Screenshot below.
I don't see anything in the timeline where the playhead is. Can you zoom into the timeline and post a screenshot of a section of the screen. Shift-Cmd-4 will allow you to select an area of the screen to capture. As you're showing the timeline index it might help to show what it says for that section of the timeline at 1:23.
Again, please what are the complete media specs and the project properties? It might to see what's causing the black section. One or two seconds is quite long and should be visible.
Sorry but I think this is zoomed a little bit too much. We can’t see the context: we can’t see the clips around, we can’t see the time indicators in the timeline.
What we CAN see is that what is selected is about 8 seconds (not 1 or 2).
You've zoomed inside one frame. That looks like part of a video clip. It's not a gap clip. It looks like it's on one of the clips and has to be trimmed off.
Media specs are in the Info inspector when a clip is selected, Frame size, Frame rate. Project properties are also in the inspector.
There's something very strange going on. The playhead looks like it's on the second frame of the video, but the viewer is showing that should be the first frame of a clip. Quit the application and trash your preferences to start. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application.
Any chance you could upload that clip somewhere that it can be downloaded, like Dropbox or WeTransfer?
Is this happening on all the clips, or just this one.
Can you post a screenshot of the timeline with the playback over the bank frames? What are the specs of the media? What are the project properties? Did you copy/paste from one project to another?
