Overheating from Light Web-browsing and streaming from iTunes
What do I do to stop my laptop (MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) from overheating? Does it affect my battery's lifespan/durability?

The article already linked talks about vents. The vent most people fail to appreciate is the exhaust vent. Hot air has to escape as well and, on a MacBook Pro, that happens along the hinge area in the back. I don't let anything within three inches (75mm) of the hinge. That is the area too often overlooked when check for blocked vents.
"Light browsing" is approaching meaningless phrase status. Most web pages are using more resources than ever before. All those animated ads and videos take a toll. Some web pages can cause overheating if simply left open in a background tab or window. I can produce that on demand with the Amazon home page.
If you are running anti-virus or so-called "cleaning" apps, they wil increase the workload needlessly and, in the process, increase temps.
Does it affect my battery's lifespan/durability?
The battery is not the worry. If heat cooks a component on the logic board, you have to replace the entire board.

Hi KingGeminiCole,
Thanks for trying those steps so far to isolate this issue.
Try going to Activity Monitor to see what's having a high energy impact:
View energy consumption in Activity Monitor on Mac
Try starting into safe mode and see if you experience a similar issue:
Start up your Mac in safe mode
Let us know what that looks like.
Best of luck.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.

Yes there are. The fans come up really loudly, after like 30 mins and yes, I keep getting apps just freeze. I'm literally force quitting almost all my apps. Even native apps like Music. I also think that's why I'm getting terrible battery life (3hrs on a full charge). I've reset my SMC but it doesn't seem to be working. Thanks for the suggestions
Well, this is a look at my activity monitor, checked it out immediately I saw your reply, my last charge was 89% and I used it without it being plugged in. I also pulled up my battery info. My cycle count is just 23!
I'll give you feedback, after trying the safe mode. Thanks
Yeah! I'm also really conscious about my vents being blocked. So I don't let any thing near the vents. And for the webpages, in the past day I've really only been on the Apple communities website, and stack-overflow and my email. I even stopped using chrome because Safari is "Optimised" for MacOS. What I'm trying to say is that I really don't have many tabs open at most 7. And I don't have any anti-virus or "cleaning apps". The laptop is still fairly new.
And I really hope it doesn't get to the point that I need to replace the entire logic board. That's why I'm trying to sort it out ASAP
