FaceTime camera not working after Big Sur update.

Having just received a new MacBook Air and installed the latest Big Sur software I have found that the camera is working intermittently and often showing a blacked out window. I have checked all settings I can think of and held 2 support calls with Apple, who have failed to resolve. I have just reinstalled the Os to find the problem remains. Has anyone resolved this, Apple seem blind to it?

If you just bought your machine, check with Photobooth if the camera is working. If it is working, then you know it is camera software itself that may need to be updated to Big Sur. If Photobooth is not working, call AppleCare to request a mail in repair of your camera, as that is usually under the hardware warranty. Be sure to backup your data before sending in the machine for repair.
