Fitness+ - Apple Watch Not Pairing With Apple TV

I am having issues pairing my Apple Watch to my Apple TV for Fitness +.

First I have updated software on all devices

Restarted etc several times

I open Fitness app on my Apple TV

Asks me to open the workout app on my Apple Watch to Connect

The Apple Watch gives me a pop-up green button to connect

I click the button and it gives the spinning icon briefly then stops

Repeat, repeat, repeat... never actually connects

I have read multiple support posts they all seem to deal with second Apple Watch users, or pairing canceled messages. I can’t even get that far...

Any help?

According to

Devices you can use with Apple Fitness+ - Apple Support

you will need to upgrade to at least watchOS 7.2.

The intended procedure to connect the Apple Watch with Apple TV is described on

I was able to solve this connection issue by completely removing ‘My Home’ from the Home app on my IPhone and then setting it back up again. After I added my Apple TV back to my Home it asked if I wanted to be added to the Apple TV. Now it works.

The connect procedure, as linked above:

Work out on Apple TV

1. Open the Fitness app (on Apple TV).

2. Select yourself. Select Other if you're not signed in as the primary account and don't have your Apple Watch paired with the Apple TV. To pair your Apple Watch, open the Workout app on your Apple Watch and enter the code displayed on the Apple TV.

Are there other devices that could interfere? Is the watch the only close device? Can you keep other devices out of range? I.e. don’t keep you phone on you while pairing the watch.
