Help needed: Can Powermac G4 867 Quicksilver 3,5 (M8360LL/A) boot OS 9.2.2 or OS 9.2.1 Natively?

Greetings, I just bought this old Mac to replace a similar-era Digital Audio Mac (3,4) that I used for audio production many years ago. I need to open and possibly run many old Opcode Studio Vision recording sessions, in order to convert them and export to a newer format.

In researching further, I've discovered that the G4 867 Quicksilver 3,5 is listed in EveryMac as OS 9 with an asterisks for how it boots OS9: "boot/classic**".

I missed the asterisks before buying and assumed it will boot natively, as it sits alongside similar models that list "boot/classic" with no asterisks. I need to boot OS 9.2.2 natively in order to run the Opcode software (Studio Vision + OMS). Now reading further, I'm not sure if this will work for my needs.

Can someone please confirm if it is possible to natively boot (not via classic) this particular model?

Powermac G4 867 Quicksilver 3,5 (M8360LL/A)

If not, I'll try again with a different machine. Thank you.

If you meant, clicking on the Everymac description, I think I understand now. "*This model is capable of booting Mac OS 9 and using Mac OS 9 applications within the Mac OS X "Classic" environment provided with Mac OS X 10.4.11 "Tiger" and lower ("Classic" is not supported starting with Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard")."

So this means I can do either native boot or classic within 10.4.11 and earlier. If so then I should be in fine shape. Thanks again.

Hi Niel, thank you for your fast reply. Just to make sure, do you know why this model is listed in EveryMac as "boot/classic**" with asterisks? I can't imagine it would be different from my old Digital Audio Mac (same era) but the Everymac description has made me wonder. I want to make sure I'm not missing something before spending more time and money on compatible cabling for connecting to my system. Best regards
