M1 MacBook Touch ID

My M1 Macbook Pro seems to lose my touch ID. The touch ID works a couple times, then will no longer work. I have to type in password. I can rescan and set up a new fingerprint and it works fine... a couple times, then it's back to typing password. Defective Mac? software issue?

Touch id I bought a m1 MacBook air this year. My laptop is working perfectly fine. But i don't know why my touch id is not working perfectly sometimes it registers my thumb print immediately but sometimes it takes a lot of time then opens the laptop sometimes i need to press the power button to activate my touch id and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Can anyone help me about this problem

Touch ID not working since update macOS 13.5.1 Firstly the touch Id stopped unlocking mac. So I tried restarting, didn't work. Then I tried to remove existing fingerprints, and register new fingerprints, but couldn't add any. It gives failure when trying to register fingerprint. Failed Unable to complete Touch ID enrolment. Please go back and retry. Device: Macbook M1 Pro OS: Ventura 13.5.1
