itunes browser issue in final cut pro x

All my Photo and Audio browsers stopped working. Each of the browser is empty, furthermore iTunes browser shows the endless annoying beachball. It used to work, in particular the Sound Effects, and iTunes. I have no idea of what I did wrong...

I finally decided to upgrade from Mojave 10.14.6 to Catalina 10.15.7.

That solved the problems with the empty browsers, and I am happy again. Although this problem was bad, it was not a killer and I managed to work -almost- as normally, copy/pasting audio tracks and effects from the file finder.

I still believe that FSP 10.4.8 was a wrong version with Mojave 10.14.6's respect and either the AppStore should not have let me download it to my computer or it was ok to download it but some later changes were done to the SW which created this problem. My suspicion is some Security Update done to Mojave. Of course, since security updates are not documented I cannot verify that.

Nevertheless thanks a lots to to everyone who tried to help me!

Hi Tom,

Yes, I did read what Luis said, sorry for not well understanding how to group my answer close to the right question. I hope I'll learn fast {;-).

I did trash the FCPX preferences, ie. Hold Opt-Cmd as I launched the application. No difference.

All my content (except my projets, which open without any problem) are on an internal partitioned SSD (users home, and data). Nothing on iCloud.

I am not sure what you mean by " check the menu in the upper right corner." Here is what theSound Effects browser looks likes. The pulldown menu has only one line "No item". Does that help?

I tried a last trick: I removed the app file, then from the AppStore, I clicked the down left corner username icon/name and tried to download the app. It failed with this infamous warning:

I just wonder why I should upgrade from Mojave to Catalina, when FCPX so far run nicely in Mojave.

I have to say I am very disappointed with Apple politics on this issue. This is IMO a clear *regression issue* on an expensive product (FCPX), and I am not sure putting more € in Apple computers will help me.

Going back now to find a workaround to my unsolved problem...

Tx a million to all users on this group for your time trying to help me.

Hi Tom, I just did that trying reload the app from AppStore, my own list of purchased and I got that disturbing dialogbox saying "Final Cut Pro can't be installed on "MacOS 10.14.6" because macOS version 10.15.6 or later is required".

By disturbing I mean that I legally bought FCPX on earlier OS (Sierra or High Sierra if I recall) and the app run without any problem. Until now. My hunch is Security Updates are responsible for that. Of course I cannot verify my claim and this is merely IMO.
