Profile picture is “stubborn”

On iCloud I’ve tried time and time again to change my profile picture, but it always keeps resetting to an Animoji of a family member. It’s been like this for a loooong while now and my tired fed up self wanted to see if y’all can pitch in and help me solve this problem. For those wondering, my iMac is from late 2015, Apple TV is 4K model. Both run their latest respective software versions (11.1, 14.3)
