Mac OS Contacts all disappeared. Contacts is now Empty! Where did they go????

Went to my Contact Application today and it was empty. Not sure what happened to all of my contacts. I have a back up but I am not sure where OS stores contacts. I can't find anything in Library. Anyone know? Unfortunately I don't have my contact backed-up in iCloud. I have many of them on my phone but not all of them. Anyway, if someone could tell me where OS stores contacts I should be able to recover them from my last back-up. thank you.

Hey SC_Stigmata, thanks for posting here in Apple Support Communities!

We see that your contacts on your Mac computer have gone missing, and that you don't use iCloud to sync or store them. Not to worry, we know how important contacts are, so we'll definitely do all that we can to help. To start, can you tell us if there were any changes to your Mac computer, such as removing an email account?

In addition to that, can you tell us if you have Time Machine set up? If so, let's check to see if you're able to a Time Machine local snapshot of your missing contacts. Here's how: About Time Machine local snapshots

Please keep us posted.

Cheers!
