Fitness+ is a tight integration of Watch, iPhone, iPad and TV.
All the required Apple devices also need to have the latest watchOS 7.2, iOS/iPadOS 14.3 and tvOS 14.3 installed.

Completely agree. I have an AirPlay 2 compatible TV and an older model Apple TV. It’s completely unacceptable to expect someone to purchase a new Apple TV in addition to an Apple Watch in order to use a fitness service.
I will be canceling the service after my trial. I cannot follow a workout from a phone screen, and I will not be buying a new Apple TV. Going to Peloton.
Makes zero sense that you can not air play without having a new Apple TV.

I have a Apple Watch 5 and bought a brand new Apple Watch 6 for my partner so we could both get fit using Fitness Plus.
Airplay works for everything else why not Fitness+ - surely it can just share what is on screen on iPhone straight to My TV which has Airplay built in.
I have apple watch 5, partner has Apple Watch 6 - Her Christmas present as she couldn't use Fitness + on her Apple Watch 2

We're looking at Peleton too, and sending the Apple Watch 6 back.
Really poor. I already have most of the apple range and Apple TV+ subscription - it's holding people to ransom having to buy yet another device just for a small functionality that should naturally appear as screen mirroring or airplay.
totally frustrated with you! I have a mac, air buds, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple TV plus(pay for). I was told it would air play, just found out it does not. I have an older APPLE TV bought in 2016 which of course is now outdated. I don't need a new one since my tv is smart, but it wont download Apple Fitness plus. What a waste of money. Now I have to cancel since I cant use it.

Agreed! I use Peloton and love it. But I now that I have Apple watch it works but does not show heart rate. Not sure why.
