issue with fan and heat

My Macbook Pro keeps overheating and the fan turns on the first thing I open it. Even if I don’t have many applications open, it still overheats. Is there any way I can stop the overheating? I do my work on a desk so the air space is not a problem.

MacBook Pro easily overheating i understand that macs aren’t known for their thermal management, but even when I’m doing light work on a desk my Mac starts to overheat and the fans start going full speed. It’s pretty annoying considering I’ve only had it for about a year. I can’t imagine it’s clogged up with dust because it’s been happening for months, and it’s not because I’m doing things that take a lot of computing power. Any suggestions?

Overheating and Loud Hey, so recently my MacBook pro has been running hot and loud. When I check the vents I can feel hot air blowing out of the right side. Even the keys are warm to the touch. It's not really running slowly either. What can I do to fix this problem?

How do you know it is overheating? Does the computer shut itself down due to overheating? It appears you think it is overheating because the fans come on. It is normal for the fans to run in order to keep the computer at proper temperature.
