Drainage and itching when using AirPods Pro

I was given some Pro's for Christmas and the night after a workout, I noticed I had some drainage and assumed I had obtained an ear infection somehow. Didn't use them again for a few days and the itching and drainage stopped, used them again and the drainage came back with a vengeance that night, with severe itching and swelling in the external part of my ears. The drainage is clear, serous fluid, like that of an allergy.

I have purchased the Comply ones from Amazon and will be trying those later today.

Sadly- I’m on my third (yes, THIRD) pair of AirPod Pros, second set of Comply foam tips (tried different sizes in case it made a difference) and after 6 months, I’m ready to give up. My ears itch, hurt, flake, ooze and I’m putting antibiotic drops in every so often to keep the symptoms from getting worse. Sadly I’m starting to get the sense I’m just allergic the nickel in the Airpod Pros themselves. I’ve never had this issue before with regular Airpods. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. I bought my AirPod pro when they were first released. Aside from a few minor issues with individual pods which Apple corrected through Apple care promptly they were great. However, this spring of 2021 they would not connect to any of my devices such as Apple watch 6, iPad Air, iPhone 12pro max. I was instructed to send them in for service. I did so and was sent a while new set. This was bittersweet as my wife had the original set custom ordered with a monogram. This new set has been causing issues congruent to dermatitis. My ear canals peel and itch and I get fluid draining from the lesions. If I stop using then and apply hydrocortisone the symptoms subside. The first time I use them again my ears start to set flake and get nasty. I’ll be contacting Apple support after reading this thread and how others have experienced the same symptoms.

I had the ear fluid drip issue with the AirPods Pro after about 9 months of incident free usage from new. Have tried below after recovering from the bouts of ear fluid drain.

1) Using wife's AirPods Pro - Fluid drain persists

2) Using aftermarket sleaves for the pod housing and the the - Fluid drain persists

3) Using new replacement earbuds provide by apple due to connectivity issues - Fluid drain persists

I have got the fluid drain on the AirPod 3 again on the 29th Oct 2021

It may be worth noting that my AirPods were connected android phones and Mac book pro 2019 during the time it worked well for me. Once I switched to iPhone 11, 12 and MacBook pros 2019 I started experiencing the fluid drain. My daughter is now using my AirPods pros on android phone and Mac book pro 2012 and she does not seem to have any issues with ear fluid drain. My wife using AirPods pros on iPhone 11 also has the itching, scabbing shedding and fluid drain when using AirPods pros. In both our cases it has been happening over several firmware updates and after a couple of hours of usage every time.

In my opinion the issue is not isolated to AirPods pros not its silicon ear tips, I suspect it has to do with the plastic material or more so the signal radiation itself when connected to iPhones. On my 4th attempt with 3 different devices I give up on apple AirPod line.
