Changing Airpods functions through laptop

When you connect your Airpods to your phone you can click on the information button and change the functions in each ear. How do you do this when they are bluetoothed to your laptop? I teach a dance class through Zoom but when I jump too hard or speak too loudly the track either skips track or the microphone comes up on screen wanting to set a reminder? I'm trying to find out how to switch the both ears to off mode. Thank you.
