unable to activate touch id on my iphone

i am unable to activate touch id on my iphone,it was working before but from yesterday its not working anymore. when i go to setting--->touch Id and passcode i can not acctivate anything and it get failed and says: unable to complete Touch Id setup please go back and try again.what should i do to fix this problem?

iPhone 6, iOS 12

If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. Go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on, and that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints. Try enrolling a different finger.
