Using Calendar since the Upgrade.

Using Calendar on Mac Book Pro since the upgrade last month has been frustrating. There is no way to Stop an alert that keeps showing up, even after the time the alert was set and the drop down menu to remind me in a day, two days or 2 hours was removed. It seems what was so simple and user friendly before is now more complicated and time consuming.

We’re here to help you out with the Calendar app. You should be able to stop and set reminder alerts.


Have you seen Set event alerts and receive notifications in Calendar on Mac? It goes over both stopping and setting alerts.

Have you seen and tried to follow the steps found in If you don’t receive calendar alerts on Mac?

What about Change Alerts preferences in Calendar on Mac?

These are two good resources.


If you still are unable to get the alerts working as they should be, just let us know the exact steps you are taking, what pops up on the screen and what you are selecting.

When I click to stop a notification for 1 event i.e. the event is at 3pm - I keep getting notifications after 3pm. When I click Turn alert off on that notification, it turns the alerts off for everything in my calendar in the days ahead. I turned an alert off on Thursday that kept repeating and repeating. Since then, none of my Friday calendar appt's have sent no alerts. This was so much easier to navigate before the upgrade. Now it's boggling, confusing and time consuming figuring this out.
