how do you update iPhoto to work with Big Sur?

Question

upgraded to Big Sur; iPhoto doesn't function. Message to upgrade to Photos. App Store doesn't find anything in a search for Photos? What now?

Open Photos from the Applications folder or the Dock with the Option key held down, click on Other Library, and choose the iPhoto one.

Photos is the app you have with the icon that looks like this:

It comes installed on your Mac, no App Store required.

(If you have a language other than English selected, it might not be called "Photos")
