built in camera is NOT detected in iMac- not visible at all-- how do I resolve?

I have an older model iMac (2011) running High Sierra 10.13.6-- the internal built in Camera is not being detected- I have run the hardware troubleshooting and NO camera is detected. Obviously there IS a camera- but the machine for some reason is not recognizing it.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Had you attempted an SMC reset to see if that helps?

Some of these make a difference & restore function.

..Also NVRAM-or-PRAM reset may help too..

* Newer Macs sport different (M1) technologies may require

another path to check &/or reset their hardware. ~ These use
