Adding my own music to Apple Music on iPadOS 14.3

I have my own music that I’d like to browse and play from the Apple Music app. How do I get it there?

Greetings artysan,

We understand that you'd like to sync content from your computer to your iPad, and we'd like to help. Begin by following the guidance found here:

Sync music between your Mac and iPhone or iPad

Import music from a computer to Music on Mac

Sync iTunes content on PC with your devices

Take care.

Hi Melissa,

Thanks very much for your response, but none of the support info is pertinent to a MBP running 10.13.6. I have USB linked my iPad Pro to the MBP and it does not appear in the Finder device list, nor does it show up in iTunes, as my pre-iPadOS devices all do. If you would be so kind, can you offer further advice?

Hi jdo,

I have worked long and hard, using your kind advice, on this and realized Apple has successfully locked me out of data xfer between macOS High Sierra and iPadOS 14.3. None too happy.

Different tack: I’ve transferred my entire personal music library to 350GB on an external USB disk which shows up on my iPad Pro in the Files app. Apple Music app reveals no command for import. Am I missing something or should I seek a more friendly app?

Thank you for your continued assistance.

Peter
