Followup to: Cannot scan to network folder with HP Laserjet.

I was recently having this issue with my HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw. In order to solve this, I researched the MacOS forums and found a year old posting that tried to address this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250162806

But I was unsuccessful getting it to work. This post is a follow up to that post to document what worked for me. YMMV

When I first configured the printer, the MacOS found generic drivers to use with the device. (I am not a Mac expert, so this may be a little incorrect.) I was able to print, and scan document by initiating the scan from the Printers & Scanners item in System Preferences, but not from printer control menu using the Network Scan to Folder option. I verified the shared folder was accessible, permissions were correct but the printer continued to display the message that the shared folder was read only.

After much trial and error, I found the 'Reset printing system...' Menu option by a right-click in the left pane of the Printers & Scanners window.

I then downloaded the updated driver from the HP Support site. I installed the 'Install HP Easy Start' driver, version 2.10.0 released on Nov 12, 2020. Once that was complete, the scan to network folder function worked.

I hope others find this useful.
