I am having trouble with waking up the screen of the Dell Monitor U2720Q. It is is connected to my 2016 MacBook Pro. Had to turn the monitor on and off several times or plug and unplug multiple times to get the video to wake up. This would happen multiple times during a day when the laptop goes to sleep. Apple, do you have a solution? Dell doesn't have macOS support or firmware update for this monitor.

Thanks for your response. I’ve tried the steps described but the video of the monitor still wouldn’t wake up. I’m also liaising with Dell to see if it’s the fault of the monitor, but I’m wondering if Apple have had similar complaints.
