carrier charged for imessages

so my carrier is A1 MK, im from Macedonia. and my carrier charged me for an imessage, is that okay? and if i disable my imessages on my phone and enable them on my email will i still be charged. i dont think they charged me for my facetime call, but im not so sure. please help, how do i exit this ****

iMessages do not use SMS. iMessages use regular internet based data to send and receive messages. Is it possible that your carrier charged you for SMS messages and not iMessages? FYI - SMS messages have green bubbles and iMessages have the blue bubbles.
