IOS 14.3 updates

With every iPhone I have owned, the automatic download button has always been turned off, I would have to give my permission in order for the download to start.

Yesterday, I saw that there was a new update waiting to be installed. I did NOT download it because I usually do a little research on the update before I ALLOW the download.

This morning when I woke up, I had a message banner saying that my phone had been updated to the IOS 14.3 and the automatic button had been turned on. What right does Apple have to hack my phone and force the download? That is an invasion of my privacy!!! I am a big fan of the iPhone, but because of this incident, I am considering trading my phone in for another brand. I am very disappointed that Apple thinks they can violate my right to privacy and my right to make the decision as to whether or not I want the newest update on my phone.

I received the notification for the 14.3 update yesterday and I did not authorize the update. I had a banner on my Lock Screen this morning saying my iPhone had been updated.

If the update is almost a month old and the update automatically happened without my authorization, then my iPhone 11 must be defected. How do I find this out?

Truehistorian the same thing just happened to me! I had both my download and install turned off and to my surprise I woke up in the middle of my phone downloading 14.3. I contacted Apple and the rep said it shouldn’t have happened and (supposedly) couldn’t explain it. Now that I see I’m not the only one this happened to this was no accident! This was a blatant disregard of privacy. Now I want to know what was so important in this update for them to do such a thing?
