Time Machine Backups
Can I avoid filling an external drive with many Time Machine backups? Why keep old backups when the most recent ones would be most important?
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

Actually, TM doesn't re-backup things, only changed files, with pointers to the last full backup of the unchanged items.
If you to delete old backups be sure to do it from within TM, not in the Finder. :)

Thank you-that helps. Trying to manage my storage without continually filling external drives.
